Khmer culture has a clear history, with values and traditions that have been kept alive for generations and that we should all protect. For Pchum Ben, ABA Bank released the short film "The Chronicle of Pchum Ben", a story that explores one of Cambodia's most treasured traditions, with Princess Norodom Chenna.
The film connects the festival to the values behind it: gratitude to our ancestors, coming together as a family and community, and doing good. Made for a new generation of Khmer children, it shows where the tradition comes from and why it still matters, so that the cultural heritage left by our ancestors can live on for a long time.

Pchum Ben is easy to take for granted when you grow up with it. The challenge for a film like this is to explain the history and meaning of the tradition without making it feel like a lesson. The story is told as a chronicle, passing the heritage from one generation to the next, so younger audiences can understand the customs they follow every year and feel connected to them.
