At the heart of Puthisen Neang Kong Rey is an impossible pairing: a son raised in hiding to one day save his blinded mother and her eleven sisters, and the ogress's daughter ordered to devour him the moment he arrived. Instead of the death she was commanded to deliver, Kong Rey chooses him, and the two are bound together for a love story that ends as tragically as it begins.

The hardest part is following the tale exactly. Matching the story beats and getting the characters' outfits and details right takes a lot of research and back-and-forth.
